How to Use the Eisenhower Matrix

🔥

Quadrant 1: Do First

Urgent & Important

Tasks that need immediate attention. These are crises, deadlines, and problems that cannot wait. Handle these tasks yourself and do them now.

Examples: Project deadline today, urgent client issue, emergency meeting

📅

Quadrant 2: Schedule

Not Urgent & Important

Important tasks without immediate deadlines. These are strategic activities that contribute to long-term goals. Schedule dedicated time for these.

Examples: Planning, skill development, relationship building, exercise

👥

Quadrant 3: Delegate

Urgent & Not Important

Tasks that seem urgent but don't contribute to your goals. If possible, delegate these to others or find ways to minimize them.

Examples: Some emails, phone calls, certain meetings, interruptions

🗑️

Quadrant 4: Delete

Not Urgent & Not Important

Time wasters and distractions. These activities don't contribute to any meaningful goal. Eliminate or minimize these as much as possible.

Examples: Excessive social media, busy work, unnecessary meetings
